WHY WEEZER?

Adam had the idea to do the entire first Weezer record and call it "Le Bleu Debut" years ago. As Rookie Card headed north out of Pacific Beach on our first ever roadtrip in July 2003, we listened to this album and Adam told the others of his wild fantasy. They readily agreed and someone(?) came up with the idea to put a special surprise twist on it. You'll see....

BUT WHY WEEZER!?

ADAM

Top 5 Weezer memories:
1. Allowing myself to go see them at SOMA to cheer me up the night of my grandfather's funeral. They walked onstage to the Magnum PI theme.
2. Singing and air guitaring the entire first album with friends in my old El Cerrito living room to the complete boredom of several onlookers. (tie/namedrop) Talking with Jason Falkner in a hotel elevator at 3am about him doing a session for a Weezer remix. I didn't know he liked them but we started singing "The workers are going home..." harmonies until we both jumped out into the lobby airguitaring away.
3. Seeing a table full of local teenage kids holding a sign that says "Do you like Weezer?" at the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle. I assumed they were a band. No, they just wanted to talk to other Weezer fans. They were shocked that I had a tape of an acoustic show the band did at a Seattle high school as part of a contest. I lent the tape to a girl named Erin Jones that swore she'd returned it to me. I later met a guy who knew her and told me that she still had it. Do NOT lend tapes to this girl.
4. Their secret "Goat Punishment" show at the Casbah. A doorguy tracked me down (much like Magnum PI) to get me a ticket after I'd cried him a river about not getting one in time. A few weeks later, my friend Scott and I both agreed not to stay and see them at Warped Tour for fear of tainting the memory of that perfect set.
5. Watching thousands of unjaded kids sing along with "Bohemian Rhapsody" before their RIMAC Arena show.
